Thêm thẻ | Tóm tắt: | The present study aims to determine the relationship of osteoporosis and fracture risk in geriatric patients of the Hospital "Manuel Ygnacio Monteros" IESS city of Loja. The study is descriptive prospective and cross-sectional, both the relation of risk of osteoporotic fracture for fragility and the clinical risk factors of geriatric patients with osteoporosis were analyzed, with a sample of 79 patients aged over 65 who attend to the Hospital "Manuel Ygnacio Monteros "IESS, in the period from March to August 2013. The survey was applied through a questionnaire to establish the clinical risk factors and the FRAX was used, an instrument that calculates the risk of fracture. The results show that 44.3% are at high risk for fractures of the humerus, wrist and vertebrae and 38% for hip fracture, being the female and the group between 65 - 70 years the most affected. The main independent risk factors for bone densitometry were: a history of recent fall 829%) and chronic diseases which are: hypertension (52%) diabetes mellitus (16.4%), and rheumatoid arthritis (14%).
