Nivel de conocimiento sobre los beneficios de la lactancia materna y sus mitos en madres adolescentes postparto entre 15 a 18 años de edad en el Hospital Isidro Ayora de Loja.

With the purpose of determining in grade of knowledge of the benefit and myths of the maternal nursing in adolescent mothers was carried out a descriptive study, traverse during the months of April-September with 196 adolescent mothers of among 15 to 18 years of the Hospital Isidro Ayora Loja in the Department of Hospitalization of Gynecology to which are carried out a survey about the duration, components, benefits myths and technique of the maternal nursing being obtained the following results. That 90% indicates that the maternal nursing consists on giving the breast to the boy and in 70% he/she gave milk maternal sole right to its son, as for the level of knowledge about the components of the milk was to regulate with 48% and 37 faulty%; as for the duration of the nursing 45% of the mothers points out 12 months and 27% 18 months. As for the level of knowledge about the benefits 53% possesses a level of regular knowledge and 28 bad and alone% 19% they possess a level of good knowledge. The level of knowledge on the correct technique of breastfeeding is bad with 59% and 41 good%. Certain causing myths of abandonment of the nursing are accepted by the mothers like true being false had percentages high superiors to 50%
