סיכום:In this literature review investigation work, traditional or late implant placement that consists of waiting 3 to 6 months before installation to allow for healing of the socket, however, this waiting time is unfavorable for patients seeking immediate results in conjunction with excellent esthetics. As a result, nowadays the immediate placement of implants has become widespread with the purpose of improving esthetic results and reducing installation time. The objective of this research was to establish a comparative study between the placement of immediate dental implants and late dental implants by means of a literature review, to this end, a systematic electronic search was carried out in the databases Google Scholar, PubMed, Wiley, Lilacs, Scielo. Based on the search, 30 articles were selected that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Among the included studies, it was determined that immediate placement requires less treatment time, involves less invasive surgical procedures, preserves hard and soft tissue architecture, reduces alveolar bone resorption and provides better esthetic results. Nevertheless, it is concluded that the selection of each installation technique will depend on the systemic state, clinical and biological characteristics, without forgetting the patient's habits. Key words: dental implant, bone-implant interface, osseointegration, alveolar bone loss.
