Samenvatting: | Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative bacillus that colonizes the gastric mucosa of man, and is currently one of the major human pathogens causing importance of some gastric diseases thus affecting more than half the world's population. Age, socio-sanitary conditions, and pets are factors that influence the presence of infection, the prevalence is higher in developing countries than in developed ones. This research was conducted in order to determine Helicobacter pylori antigens in stool and identify predisposing factors in students Marieta School Veintimilla, study was descriptive cross-sectional and used a sample of 70 students who attend the Marieta de Veintimilla school; for the determination of bacteria in faeces technique immunochromatography applied taking into account the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, for the predisposing factors survey was used, leading to the following results: the 55.71% of the 70 students They were positive for H. pylori. Regarding predisposing factors used the 7.14% non-potable water, 11.42% do not wash fruit before eating, the 51.45% consume food on the street, 28.57% had poor hygiene, 20% made a bad removal excreta and 87.14% say they have contact with domestic animals, indicating that there is a relationship between the presence of the bacteria and predisposing factors becoming a student group vulnerable to contracting the bacteria.
