Zusammenfassung:This research was aimed to evaluate the nutritional status of children from first to seventh year of basic education in the School Father Juan Gonzalez of the Chicaña Parish, Yantzaza canton, of the year 2015.The type of applied research was descriptive, field, prospective, transversal and bibliographic, The technique of the survey questionnaire, plus the observation guide with a sample of 159 children was applied to the instrument. We have identified the following results: The predominant gender was female with 50,31%, the predominant age was 7 to 8 years with 33,33%, 87,42% with mixed ethnicity; 62,26% with urban residence, with a below weight are 32,08%; while overweight with 8.81%; 56,60% do not eat the fish, rice and fruits; the 89,94% consume chips, colas, candy; They have not attracted 78,62%; do not do recreational exercise 68,55%, higher consumption drinks are juices with 62,26%. As an alternative intervention plan distributed in different themes such as food, nutrition, hygiene and healthy lifestyle developed, further he developed and an educational manual was delivered, a triptych, workshop own food was made in the area addressed to mothers and health care through home visits. It is concluded that nutritional status is normal with 59,12%, but responds to 32,08% underweight, overweight with the 8,81% that the main cause is consumption of junk food with 89,94% and no deworming with 78,62%.
