| Sumari: | In the present research work it was to evaluate the relationship between clinical and imaging studies in patients who presented with colicky pain to the emergency room of the Hospital Manuel Ygnacio Montero city of Loja, a retrospective, descriptive and quantitative study was conducted and cross section. For this study, we evaluated 50 patients of the hospital, considering inclusion and exclusion criteria for which history was used to collect and record data. We classified patients according to the apparent cause, age, sex, and the presence or absence of cholelithiasis by ultrasound. Biliary colic presented as apparent cause in 54% of cases the diet, females accounted for 64% of cases, the most affected age group comprises between 18-34 years representing 32% cases ultrasound detected the presence of calculi in 88% of the population studied, this being the main imaging study for diagnosis of gallstones. By the above, ultrasound is the primary imaging study for diagnosis of gallstones. Keywords: biliary colic, gallstones, ultrasound. |
