Итог:Aging is a universal, continuous and irreversible process in which there is a progressive loss of adaptability. In this research, we will establish the most common risk factors as causes of respiratory illnesses in the elderly; to identify what gender and age with higher prevalence of respiratory conditions and design a proposal to strengthen the activities of senior care for respiratory conditions. It is a quantitative, descriptive study, cross-sectional, in a sample of 48 elderly men and women of Home Santa Teresita "Child Jesus". The study showed that the 48 elderly men and women, the factors most prevalent risk for developing respiratory conditions are: overcrowding with a percentage 87.50%; followed by domiciliary and extradomiciliary animals with 75%; and 72.92% who cooked their food in wood; age with higher prevalence of respiratory diseases is between 60-70 years with a percentage of 62.50%; and finally a 77.08% have received no guidance or counseling to prevent respiratory diseases, indicating that overcrowding is the main risk factor for developing respiratory conditions and that the female gender is more likely.
