| Summary: | The Nursing Care Process (NCP) is a systematic, dynamic and interactive method that allows Nursing professionals to provide a care plan according to the needs of each patient, family or community. It is made up of 5 stages; assessment, diagnosis, planning, execution and evaluation, which are related to each other and are consecutive. The present research is about a study with a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, whose objective was to appraise the level of knowledge and the application of the Nursing Process in the Areas of Neonatology, Gynecology and the Obstetric Center of the Manuel Ygnacio Monteros Hospital. A questionnaire and a checklist were used as instruments and were employed to a sample of 36 Nursing professionals. As results of the sociodemographic characteristics, it was obtained that 63.9% are in an age range of 31 to 40 years, 100% are female, 36.1% have work experience of 6 to 10 years and in terms of educational level, 61.1% possess third level. There is an average level of expertise about the NCE of 47.3% by the respondents, likewise establishing that the extent of the usage of the NCE is average at 50% according to the checklist; but among the determining factors that intervene in the nonapplication of the Nursing Process are the workload and deficit of scientific-practical understanding on the part of the staff. It was concluded that the professionals have a medium level of knowledge and application of the Nursing Care Process |
