Sumario:Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disorders, which share the common characteristic of persistently or chronically high blood glucose levels. Lifestyle management is a fundamental pillar of diabetes care and includes diet, physical activity, non-use of tobacco and alcohol, knowledge about the disease, psychosocial care and adherence to therapeutic treatment. To achieve this, the individual must adopt healthy behaviors that directly compromise his or her health; unhealthy behavior can have negative consequences and even seriously compromise the individual's life. This research was conducted at the "Club de Diabéticos" of the General Hospital IESS Machala. It had the objective of identifying the lifestyle of patients with Diabetes mellitus type 2. It corresponds to a Descriptive type study, quantitative and cross-sectional approach, the technique used was the IMEVID survey, used to measure lifestyles in diabetic patients. The total population was 50 patients and all of them were worked on. It was determined that the sex of the study group is male, with an age range of over 65 years, the level of education is primary, the occupation, most are retired and engaged in household activities. In addition, 62% have a very healthy lifestyle, 36% a healthy lifestyle and 2% an unhealthy lifestyle. Keywords: Quality of life, Lifestyle, Nutrition, Medical Treatment
