| Sumario: | The employment of minors is a serious social problem that harms the progress of children. In the specific case of the Yantzaza canton in Ecuador, the situation is alarming, since it is estimated that 20% of children between 5 and 17 years of age are involved in child labor. To address this problem, the objective of this thesis is to analyze the socio-familial situation of the families of working children in Yantzaza. To carry out this research, an investigative and analytical approach will be used, based on surveys of participating families. It is expected that the results of this study will reveal the socio-familial challenges faced by parents of working children in Yantzaza canton, such as poverty, discrimination, and difficulties in accessing adequate education. These challenges seem to influence children's need to work, feeding a cycle that perpetuates poverty and exclusion. By analyzing this situation, we seek to raise awareness of the negative impact of child labor on children's development and, in turn, provide relevant information for the implementation of policies and programs to prevent and eradicate child labor in Yantzaza Canton. Overcoming these socio-family challenges will be fundamental to break this vicious cycle and guarantee a better future for working children and their families. |
