| Özet: | The health promotion in the traditional medicine is directed at rescuing the knowledge and practices that have existed in our culture for a long time and that due to the advances of modern medicine and new beliefs have been disappearing. The objective of this research was to analyze the health promotion actions applied by officials Alternative Traditional Medicine Association and Complementary Therapies (ATMACT). It was a descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental study. The study population consisted of 100 participants; the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire as an instrument of own elaboration. The results reflect that 35% of ATMACT members are over 41 years of age, the male sex predominates with 68%, 60% are married, with secondary education 67%, 67% belong to the urban area, 97% identify with the mestizo ethnic group, in relation to the types of agents 40% are healers and 65% receive a remuneration of approximately $10 for the services offered. In relation to promotional actions, 30% soothe diseases of fright and strong look, 25% soothe bad air and 29% have an adequate diet, in relation to practices 55% use observation as a method for diagnosis, 70% uses medicinal plants for treatment, 36% clean bad energy with herbs, 25% biopuncture as the practice of alternative and complementary medicine. Based on the results, it was made an edu-communicational proposal and advertising in the form of posters, which helped to implement an intercultural dialogue. It is concluded that the promotion of health through traditional medicine and alternative therapies contribute to the improvement of the health of users as well as reinforces the cultural identity of traditional medicine agents.
