| Izvleček: | The teaching and learning in the Natural Sciences are a growing concern in the field of education, in particular, by the need to apply methodological strategies appropriate to the achievement of the objectives and institutional goals. In this context is the present research study entitled: The Methodological Strategies in the teaching-learning process of Natural Sciences and meaningful learning in the students of eighth year of Basic General Education of the College "Adolfo Valarezo", in the city of Loja. Period 2012-2013. Alternative Guidelines, the same as it was as a general objective; to analyze the methodological strategies in the teaching-learning process of Natural Sciences and the relationship with the meaningful learning in the students of eighth year of Basic General Education. The development of the research was based on a design descriptive and explanatory, and at the same time they used the inductive methods, deductive and synthetic. For the collection of information are working with students and teachers of the college subject to investigation, for this technique was applied to the survey. After you have done the research, it was concluded that the methodological strategies applied by teachers, are not suitable, because it does not guide and facilitate the activities within the teaching-learning process in Natural Sciences, in this way is not achieved for the student to learn significantly, becoming rote programming type.
