| Streszczenie: | This graduate thesis project, is part of the Research Project "Development of temporary space models of solar and eolic variables, to estimate the energy potential in the Southern Region of Ecuador". It started in July 2011 within a twenty-four months period, co-financed by the National Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT), this project fulfills the logic-frame model presented and approved by this Secretary. As a concluding result the thesis report provides an eolic map of the province using data obtained from the automatic meteorological stations that belong to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI). Information regarding the Eolic Resources in the province of Loja is presented, getting deeper in topics such as Eolic potential, Characterization of the Wind, and measuring instruments. An analysis of the numeric models used to describe the eolic resource was developed. The Program WAsP was applied with a horizontal resolution of 1 km, for the cartographic information, the image from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission of NASA was used, and for the ruggedness data, graphic information of Google Earth with Resolution 1:10.000 was considered. The methodology applied throughout the process is presented and the results that were obtained are also analyzed, in particular: an Excel format file of an horizontal resolution of 1 km covering the whole province of Loja, with data of average wind speed, wind directions (considering 16 sectors of 22.5° width), A and k coefficients of the Weibull distribution, and power density. Moreover, in a GIS (Geographic Information System), the global result in graphical format is obtained as a wind map of Loja province at 80 m height. To sum up, the conclusions and recommendations are written. |
