The ozone is an oxygen form that possesses antimicrobials, antihypoxics, biosynthetics, and analgesics; made the immune system better, and activates the biochemist and antioxidant mechanism. In this context, ozone therapy is presented as a valid complement to periodontal illness; due to the advances in mechanical periodontal therapy like deep cleaning; some limitations are persistent in the bacteria elimination at periodontal deep bags; which makes the exploration of complementary therapies. For that reason, the present study has as a main goal to analyze the efficient application of ozone as an irrigant at mechanical therapy for periodontal disease, identify the results of the process, identify the results of ozone therapy based on clinical parameters, evaluate the effect of antibacterial from ozone about periodontopathogens at the clinical therapy, and determine the level of clinic immersion after the application of ozone therapy. The present research was done as a non-experimental study, of descriptive, analytical, and documentary; through the research of scientific articles in Spanish, English, and Portuguese obtained from the scientific database. Across the literature revision, it was checked the positive impact of ozone therapy on the reduction of periodontal clinic parameters, with the probing depth, bleeding on probing, plaque index, and gingival index; also, it was showed an increase of antibacterial from ozone against Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomicetencomitans y Tannerella forsythia; respect to the level of clinic insertion, it can check an improvement after ozone therapy with a different measure of 1.78 mm of gain insertion clinic level, showing an improvement of periodontal health. |
