| Izvleček: | Saliva, a complex secretion from the Salivary glands, constituted 99% wáter while the remaining 1% consisting of organic and inorganic molecules, its p hits about 6.5 to 7 in a normal state, can vary from state acidic to basic Variations in salivary flow can be affected by many physiological and pathological factors, reversibly or irreversibly In the last decade, breast cancer was the most common condition in women globally. According to the world Health Organization (WHO). Chemotherapy is one of the most widely used treatments for these patients, and most times implies a problem for the health of it, such as oral health, producing various types of injuries and disorders In the present study the changes produced by chemotherapy oral level were evaluated by determining the changes in pH and salivary flow, whose sample consisted of 30 female patients between 35 and 50 years of age diagnosed with breast cancer, the same as chemotherapy in Hospital "SOLCA". Samples were taken in glasses, then he proceeded to make the necessary analysis to determine the level of salivary pH with litmus paper and salivary flow taking into account the amount of saliva collected in a given time In the results it was found that 93.33% of women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy in hospital "SOLCA" city of Loja, salivary pH acid present in healthy women and 100% has a neutral pH due chemotherapy treatment applied to women with breast cancer; and to apply the method to determine salivary flow showed that there is a 100% dry mouth unlike in healthy women at increased salivation 93.33% in women with breast cancer. Keywords: Saliva, salivary pH, salivary flow. |
