Περίληψη:Fetal growth is defined as that resulting from cell division and growth without interference and gives the end product a newborn baby to term. Intrauterine Growth Retarded (CIUR) refers to a condition in which a fetus is unable to achieve its genetically determined potential size and is one of the problems affecting the RN causing high rates of morbidity and mortality. A descriptive study, quantitative, was conducted to determine the morbidity and mortality of infants with intrauterine growth retardation in the service of Neonatology Isidro Ayora Hospital, during the period from May to October 2015. The information was obtained from medical records by applying a survey compiled by the author of the study taking into account the implications postnatal peri- variables. The charters processed data using Microsoft Office Excel 2013. We studied 29 newborns accounted for 2% of all live births (1450), predominantly male. It was also found that the mortality of CIUR is 7% while accounting for 17% of income to Intensive Care Unit. 100% of infants with IUGR require ICU care. The implications more frequent peri-postnatal CIUR were: preterm delivery, cesarean delivery and hyaline membrane disease.
