Conocimientos y aplicación del autocuidado en pacientes del servicio de diálisis del Hospital General Puyo, año 2015.

The research aimed to identify the knowledge and application of self-care in patients from the Dialysis’ service of Puyo’s General Hospital. The technique was applied to the survey’s technique in 45 patients, which was the population, as well, the design of the survey was cross-sectional, descriptive, bibliographic and field study. The results it showed was that mostly patients are elderly of 65 years old which means 51.11% of the population, the minimal difference according with the sex gender was males with 51.11% and females with 48.89%, in the other hand, mixed ethnicity with 86.67%, between married and cohabiting it had 60.00%, 86.67% from urban, primary education with 57.78%; those who don’t have economic activity, 68.88%, and 24.45% perceive an income for retirement or job performance. The level of knowledge about care in hemodialysis patients is medium with 60% unaware of the aspect that is the importance of hand washing with 86, 67%, and the result of excess sodium potassium and phosphorus in the body in 46, 67%amount of liquid to ingest 28.89 %, care of the fistula or catheter 8.89 %, the level of application in the middle with 57, 78% the area where it found less application is preparing food with the 68.89%; 64.44%, intake of liquids allowed 62.22 % , vascular access care 13.33%. Did not consume healthy food; and the percent where the frequency of bathing are not daily with 68.89%. It was concluded that the level of knowledge is with an average of 60% and the application of self-care is also the half in 57 78%. The author brought educational activities and demonstration workshops where helped to strengthen the knowledge and the application of self-care to improve the quality of lifestyle.
