Yhteenveto:The fundamental purpose of this study is to promote neighborhood participation in all its forms and to identify and address social problems in a locality-specific manner. Therefore, the general objective of the research is based on contributing to the development of society through the construction of effective and sustainable solutions, applying the mechanisms of citizen participation according to the realities of the neighborhood. This is carried out through three specific objectives that complement the main objective previously mentioned, which are: to collaborate with the neighborhood organization in the diagnosis of its main problems, to provide training on the mechanisms of citizen participation to empower neighborhood leadership, and finally to contribute in the generation of spaces for the neighborhood residents to participate before the local institutional authorities, oriented to mitigate citizen demands. Therefore, the research was developed through an inductive research methodology with a mixed approach, in which quantitative and qualitative data were taken into account with the application of tools summarized in observation sheet, survey, and interview. Likewise, the research was cross-sectional with an exploratory and descriptive design, in which no variables were handled and no hypotheses were proposed. During the development of this work, together with the various actors involved in it, a series of problems that characterize the neighborhood were determined, the most relevant being the lack of public lighting in various sectors of the neighborhood, the absence of road signs, the lack of sewerage and the demand for asphalt on the roads throughout the territory. Subsequently, a training plan on citizen participation mechanisms was implemented, as well as an action plan in which alternative solutions were specified to solve the main problem of the locality.
