Riassunto:Abuse to children and adolescents is defined as any behavior of action or omission that causes harm to the integrity or health, also it produces harmful long-term consequences, and negatively affects to the physical, emotional and social development of the minor. The present research focused on determining the scientific evidence of abuse to children and adolescents, as well as identifying sociodemographic characteristics; establishing the prevalence of types of abuse; and designing an informative guide on strategies to prevent abuse and promote positive parenting in both children and adolescents. The study was conducted with a quantitative crosssectional approach, with a non-experimental and descriptive design. The sample studied was made up of 17 scientific articles from databases such as: Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet and Science Direct. The results obtained highlight within the sociodemographic characteristics that Mexico is the country that has most investigated the problem, the average age is 11 years and the predominant sex is female with 53.25%. On the other hand, factors such as family type, social stratification and education are not determining factors, but it is observed that there is a tendency towards nuclear families and single-parent families where the main caregiver is the mother, free union as a civil status, belonging to a low socioeconomic stratum and schooling is between first and second year of high school. According to the type of abuse, it is established that the most predominant is the psychological with 33.39%, followed by the physical, the sexual abuse and the negligence. Based on these results, it was developed an informative guide in order to provide strategies to prevent abuse in the upbringing of children and adolescents
