The variables to be evaluated were percentage of emergence, days at the opening of cotyledons, height, root length, stem diameter, cotyledon surface, shoot dry mass and root. The emergency evaluation was performed from the moment the first seeds emerged, 42 days after sowing in seeds with parchment and without parchment and at 22 days in seeds without pre-germinated parchment. Cotyledon opening was evaluated after emergence at 48 days in seeds with parchment, 32 days in seeds without parchment and in seeds without pre-germinated parchment. At the end of the experimental trial, dry mass of shoot and root, total dry mass, root length were evaluated. Key words: seed, disinfectanEl presente trabajo de investigación se llevó a cabo en el barrio Carmelo, parroquia Cangonamá, cantón Paltas, provincia de Loja, el objetivo fue determinar el método de siembra de café en semillero que acelera la emergencia y la liberación de cotiledones y evaluar tres desinfectantes, la uniformidad y vigor de las plantas. Los métodos que se utilizaron fueron semilla con pergamino, semilla sin pergamino y semilla sin pergamino pre germinada; estas semillas fueron sembradas en arena previamente desinfectada con agua hervida, ceniza + jabón y extracto de ají. Las variables a evaluar fueron porcentaje de emergencia, días a la apertura de cotiledones, altura, longitud de la raíz, diámetro del tallo, superficie de los cotiledones, masa seca de la parte aérea y radical. La evaluación de emergencia se realizó a partir del momento en que emergieron las primeras semillas, a los 42 días después de la siembra en semillas con pergamino y sin pergamino y a los 22 días en semillas sin pergamino pre-germinada. La apertura de cotiledones se evaluó después de la emergencia a los 48 días en semillas con pergamino, 32 días en semillas sin pergamino y en semillas sin pergamino pre-germinada. Al final del ensayo experimental se evaluó la masa seca de la parte aérea y radical, masa seca total, longitud de la raíz. Los mejores resultados en cuanto a emergencia con más del 80% fue el semillero de agua hervida más semilla con pergamino (T1), y semilla pre-germinada (T3), en apertura de cotiledones de los nueve tratamientos los semilleros de ceniza + jabón más semilla sin pergamino (T5), y semilla pre-germinada (T6) mostraron resultados menores al 80%; en la altura, diámetro del tallo, masa seca de la parte aérea, masa seca total, longitud de la raíz el semillero de agua hervida más semilla con pergamino (T1) tuvo mejores resultados, el semillero con agua hervida más semilla con pergamino (T1) y semilla sin pergamino (T2) presentan mejor área foliar, el mejor tratamiento de la masa seca radical fue el semillero de agua hervida más semilla sin pergamino (T2) y ají más semilla con pergamino (T7) y las plántulas que tuvieron un valor menor en cuanto al ICD fueron las del semillero de ceniza+ jabón y semilla pre-germinada (T6) y ají más semilla pre-germinada (T9).
