A non-probabilistic sample was applied in 16 livestock milk production in which there were evaluated 100% of milking cows. A prevalence of 47.52% of subclinical mastitis (CMT) was found. The statistical analysis was performed with software R (3.5.2); Using Chi-square and it was found 12 variables associated with the presence of subclinical mastitis (P≤ 0.05), these were included in a logistic regression analysis to measure the risk. It was determined that the infrastructure of the regular-type farms increases the risk in relation to the ones that are in excellent conditions (OR = 5.93); the risk increases significantly with animals between eight and ten years old compared to those of two and four years old (OR = 6.34) when there are wounds in the nipples the risk is bigger than when there aren´t (OR=19,59). To prove the effectiveness of Drago blood against subclinical mastitis, it was used an experimental randomized block design with two concentrations (3% and 5%) in 32 animals; Significant differences were found between treatments, the best results were obtained in the treatments at the 5% of concentration. It was concluded that in La Hoya de Loja there is a high prevalence of subclinical mastitis in livestock, being possible to apply a prevention plan in which the identified risk factors are included, as well as alternative therapeutic measures to conventional ones such as blood treatment of 5% Drago blood that had a significant effect in the reduction of the somatic cell count. Key words: CMT, subclinical mastitis, prevalence, risk factor, Drago blood.El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la prevalencia de mastitis subclínica, los factores asociados y su tratamiento con el uso de sangre de drago a nivel de la Hoya de Loja. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico en 16 ganaderías de producción de leche evaluando el 100% de las vacas en ordeño. Se encontró una prevalencia del 47, 52% de mastitis subclínica (CMT). El análisis estadístico se realizó con el software R (3.5.2); mediante la prueba Chi Cuadrado se encontró a 12 variables asociadas a la presencia de mastitis subclínica (P≤ 0.05), estas se incluyeron en un análisis de regresión logística para medir el riesgo. Se logró determinar que la infraestructura de las fincas de tipo regular aumenta el riesgo con respecto a una en excelentes condiciones (OR= 5,93); el riesgo aumenta además con animales de edades entre ocho y diez años con respecto a aquellos comprendidos entre dos y cuatro años (OR= 6,34) y finalmente es mayor el riesgo cuando hay presencia de heridas en los pezones que cuando no las hay (OR= 19,59). Para demostrar la efectividad de la sangre de drago frente a la mastitis subclínica, se trabajó con un diseño experimental de bloques al azar utilizando dos concentraciones (3% y 5%) en 32 animales; se encontraron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos, siendo mejor la concentración al 5%. Se concluyó que en la Hoya de Loja existe una alta prevalencia de mastitis subclínica en las ganaderías siendo posible aplicar un plan de prevención en el que se incluyan los factores de riesgo identificados, así como también medidas terapéuticas alternativas a las convencionales como el tratamiento con sangre de drago al 5% que tuvo un efecto significativo en la reducción del conteo de células somáticas.
