Resumo: | The consumption of multi-nutritional blocks based on mulberry (Morus alba) in growth and fattening of guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) was evaluated in the farm "San Ignacio" in the Purunuma parish. A total of 80 male guinea pigs of the Peru line were used, distributed in four treatments of 20 animals each, with an age of 21 ± 3 days of weaned and an average weight of 250 gr. Four T1 treatments were evaluated (Rye Grass + commercial Blanching), T2 (Mulberry Block 15%) and T3 (Mulberry Block 16%) and T4 (Mulberry Block 17%); through the following variables: Increase in weight; Food Conversion Index; Palatability; and Profitability. Analysis of variance of the variables under study was carried out using the Duncan test with the InFoStat software package using a database created through the Microsoft Excel program. The results obtained determined a greater consumption of food in treatment four with 166.49 g weekly, while treatment one registered the lowest consumption with 79.82 g. Similarly, the highest weight gain was obtained by the animals of treatment four with an average of 762.3 g, while treatment two with 638.3 g, recorded the smallest increase in weight. The best feed conversion reached treatment one, whose ratio is 2.39 to 1, while treatment two had the lowest feed conversion with 3.73 to 1 which indicates that you should consume 3.73 g of the supplement for achieve to gain a gram of live weight. The best palatability was obtained in the nutritional block four manufactured with 17%, since the content of the food was used to the maximum. The highest profitability was achieved in treatment four, with a total of 47.8% which indicates that for every $ 100 invested a profit of $ 47.8 is obtained, unlike treatment three, which had the lowest profitability with a total of 39.3% |
