Summary:The models and methodological approaches for teaching the lyrical genre in the ninth- year students of General Basic Education of the Fiscomisional Educational Unit "Santiago Fernández García" is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. In this research, a journey is made on the most important models and methodological approaches to educational teaching and meets the main objective of analyzing those that have been used by teachers to teach the lyrical genre, to students in the ninth year of General Basic Education of the "Santiago Fernández García" Fiscomisional Educational Unit. To carry out this research, teachers and students were taken into account as a sample, using and applying the survey, interview, and classroom observation form. The results show that students identified the perception of the teaching-learning process of the lyric genre as positive for their educational and personal growth, while teachers expressed what types of models and approaches they use and have been conducive to teaching this type of literary content, such as constructivist, creative and aesthetic, also were analyzed effectively the results observed in the classroom, helping to determine the veracity of the interviewed with the proposed research. It can be concluded that models and methodological approaches applied by teachers in teaching the lyric genre are essential to carry out adequate and feasible teaching for student learning in the poetic genre proposed as a thesis.
