Streszczenie: | This main objective of this present research study is to determine the implications of the urinary tract infection and the premature rupture of membranes in the preterm birth in pregnant teens. The specific objetives are to identify the relationship between these pathologies with the chronological age, marital status, instruction, occupation and the socio – economical situation of the gestant teens and to determine the Complications in the newborn and the verification of the fulfillment of the protocols of the Ministry of public health for its treatments. It is a type of descriptive, prospective, quantitative and transverse cohort study. This work was developed at the Gynecology and Obstetrics area of the “Hospital General Isidro Ayora” in Loja, during the period from January to June 2014. It was taken a sample of 35 pregnant teenagers with preterm labor. According to the results, 82.9 % of the gestant teens presented urinary tract infection, 17,1 % showed premature rupture of membranes; 48,6% of 18 and 19 years old teenagers presented main etiology urinary tract infection. It is important to point out that the most complications occurred in 57,2% in cohabiting teens, while 77,1% of pregnant teenagers are from secondary instruction and 54,3% are students. On the other hand, 77,1% belonged to a regular socio – economical situation. In regards to the 8 newborns who came from urinary tract infection mothers were low weight and intrauterine growth retardation reached 14,3% and 5,7% respectively. In terms of the treatment applied by the medical staff of hospital Isidro Ayora, 58.6% of Preterm labor teenagers due to urinary tract infection got it; that is to say this staff do not fulfil with the protocols of the Ministry of public health, but 66,6% of preterm labor teenagers have been benefited with the right treatment.
