Résumé:Biology is an experimental science, and as such the laboratory work plays a vital role in teaching - learning this subject. For the labs are one of the main themes in his study, since its main objective is for students to develop their own skills of the experimental method and scientific research, broaden, deepen, consolidate, generalize and prove the theoretical foundations of discipline through experimentation. For this investigation, the following general objective was raised: Improve the relationship between theory and practice in the teaching-learning process of students in the second year of high school in the subject of biology through the experimental work in the biology laboratory of the National Agricultural College "Mons. Leonidas Proaño "Villalba de la Parroquia El Tambo. For the development of this research took into account the following methods: the scientific method, inductive - deductive, descriptive, statistical, analytical and synthetic literature. Questionnaire and observation sheet: As technical observation, interview surveys, and instruments were used. With the analysis, discussion and interpretation of the data obtained was found that the experimental work is poor; therefore, not allowed to link theory with practice; Also joining, lack of materials, reagents, chemicals and poor physical infrastructure of the laboratory; drawbacks that prevent the normal development of experimental practices. As an alternative solution, a teaching guide that teachers can use to plan experimental practices in the subject of biology is proposed.
