Sammanfattning:The micro financial services provided by Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) have shown to be such an influential tool for boosting unattended and vulnerable communities’ social and economic aspects worldwide; in this sense, it was evident the progress of millions of people who previously faced different barriers in the traditional finance system. Regarding this context, this research has gathered data on how Ecuador’s District 7 has evolved from 2017-2022; aiming at comprehending its behavior and suggesting strategies to optimize its operative effectiveness. The methodology was based on a mixed approach, combining descriptive statistics analysis with the Chi-squared test. This approach allows a convergence analysis through qualitative and quantitative techniques for a better overall understanding of the patterns, relationships, and similarities gathered in the data. The analysis findings showed outstanding outcomes tending to the growth in the banking sector and private institutions of 4.12 and 4.92 percentage points respectively. When it comes to regional districts, the province of Loja stands out for its baking sector, as it is approved by 50,49% of its population; meanwhile, the province of El Oro highlights for its private institutions since it is accepted by 51, 76%, which evidenced some preference towards private institutions. The accessibility barriers tend 7.4 percentage points. Nevertheless, when analyzing the relationship between access to microcredits considering people’s socioeconomic conditions, there is no meaningful connection between those two variables; leading to consideration of other influencing factors to be analyzed. To sum up, it is worth mentioning the importance evolving processes have to contribute to the sustainability and efficiency of this type of service to reach inclusive prosperity in small economies.
