The Parent-Child/Ace Communication Scale (CA-M/CAP) of Barnés and Olson (1982) and the Attitude to Alcohol Consumption Scale (OMS) were applied to the sample of 20 students. In the results obtained on family communication, it was found that 90% maintain a medium level of offensive communication within the home and, with respect to the attitudes towards alcohol consumption of those investigated, it was found that attitudes towards alcohol abuse are at a high level with 35% for favorable attitudes. It is concluded that a large percentage of the students maintain an offensive family communication, while a substantial percentage show attitudes favoring alcohol and drug abuse, these attitudes being worrisome for the age range of those investigated. It is recommended the DECE and parents carry out psycho-educational activities with the students to strengthen intra-family ties and increase attitudes towards non-consumption of alcohol and drugs. Key words: attitudes, alcohol, family communication, consumption, drugs.El presente estudio denominado LA COMUNICACIÓN FAMILIAR Y LAS ACTITUDES HACIA EL CONSUMO DE ALCOHOL Y DROGAS EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE SEGUNDO AÑO DE BACHILLERATO PARALELO C, DE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA MARIETA DE VEINTIMILLA, AÑO LECTIVO 2020-2021., tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre la comunicación familiar y las actitudes hacia el consumo de alcohol y drogas en los estudiantes de segundo año de bachillerato paralelo C; estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, diseño no experimental y corte transversal. Se aplicó la Escala de Comunicación Padres-Hijos/as (CA-M/CAP) de Barnés y Olson (1982) y la Escala de Actitud hacia el Consumo de Alcohol (OMS) a la muestra de 20 estudiantes. En los resultados obtenidos sobre comunicación familiar, se encontró que un 90% mantiene un nivel medio en comunicación ofensiva dentro del hogar y, con respecto a las actitudes hacia el consumo de alcohol de los investigados, se conoció que las actitudes hacia el abuso de consumo están en un nivel alto con un 35% para las actitudes favorecedoras. Se concluye que un gran porcentaje de los estudiantes mantienen una comunicación familiar ofensiva, en tanto que, un porcentaje sustancial manifiestan actitudes favorecedoras hacia el abuso de consumo de alcohol y drogas, siendo estas actitudes preocupantes por el rango de edad de los investigados. Se recomienda al DECE y a los padres de familia realizar actividades psicoeducativas con los estudiantes para fortalecer los lazos intrafamiliares e incrementar las actitudes hacia el no consumo de alcohol y drogas.
