This research project focuses on implementing a radio link, using recognized equipment such as Mimosa, Netpoint, ALGcom, and MikroTik. The link will be established from a long-range, starting at the parish of Guadalupe, in the canton of Zamora, to the Cerro Chivato, and the main REDY node in the par...

Ամփոփում:This research project focuses on implementing a radio link, using recognized equipment such as Mimosa, Netpoint, ALGcom, and MikroTik. The link will be established from a long-range, starting at the parish of Guadalupe, in the canton of Zamora, to the Cerro Chivato, and the main REDY node in the parish of 28 de Mayo in the canton of Yacuambi. Hence, the stability and availability of the internet network will be major, to offer the capacity to function as a load-balancing link for the main link. In the first stage of the development of this project, a bibliographic review of the main concepts related to wireless links was considered. The focus was the wireless standards with an emphasis on the 802.11ac standard, according to the country’s law. This regulates the use and exploitation of the spectrum, and the methods applicable to load balancing on the platforms and software implemented in the REDY network in the canton of Yacuambi. The second stage of this project consists of the implementation itself. Therefore, the compatibility of the equipment, information on variables based on the pragmatic experimentation of both links, and the results from the wireless link’s performance will be analyzed. The final stage is aimed at evaluating these results and assessing the link’s performance. In case of failures, this last stage is essential to verify the reliability of the main optical link, and to prove that it can support the load assigned by the balancing algorithm applied. The main objective of this project is to provide an efficient level of availability of the REDY internet service in the Yacuambi canton, without interfering with the user experience provided by the optical link. In addition, this will help generate real information on the implementation of this project and the results obtained by the selected equipment.
