| Zusammenfassung: | This research work is a study that sought to assess the treatment of choice in traumatic pathology of the metaphysis of the distal radius in children is right, of patients admitted to the pediatric service of the Provincial General Hospital Isidro Ayora Loja in the period March-August 2013, examines aspects such as age, gender, types biomechanical angulation, treatment, complications. The main objective was to determine the incidence, treatment and outcome of traumatic pathology of the distal radial metaphysis in children in the Pediatric Department of General Isidro Ayora Hospital Provincial de Loja, by review of medical records for the period March to August 2013. Besides: To determine the mechanism of injury, the most common type of fracture, angulation of children admitted with a diagnosis of traumatic pathology of the distal radial metaphysis. Determine the preferred treatment and post treatment complications. Determine the age group and gender presentation more traumatic pathology of distal radial metaphysis. The age ranges were between 4 and 13 years, with male predominance of 90% compared with 10% female. The predominant mechanism of injury was extension with 67%, followed by dorsiflexion flexoextensión 5% 2%. Biomechanical type was incomplete or greenstick fracture 52%, with a minimum difference the complete fracture by 48%. A single case of open fracture 5% while 95% fracture type was closed was presented. The surgical treatment of choice was the 76% of cases in relation to the orthopedic 19%, taking into account that one of the orthopedic complications suffered post treatment and had to undergo surgery. Post treatment 81% of cases present no complications, 14% had complications and if 5% is unknown because it is a case where the family requested discharge and no treatment is performed. Conclusion: The treatment of choice for traumatic pathology of the distal radial metaphysis in children is surgical as better results and fewer complications were obtained. The study evidenced that a patient treated with conservative treatment suffered complications so he had to undergo surgery.
