Thus, this research has the overall objective to determine the self-care ability of patients with chronic renal failure on diet and physical activity in the Service Hospital Hemodialysis Isidro de Loja. The study is descriptive, conducted in 55 hemodialysis patients, for whom the art of the interview, which included the same questions to determine the ability of self-care in relation to their diet and physical activity was used. Among the results it was possible to show that males have a higher prevalence with 58 % aged 41-50 years with 31% among the foods most consumed in a day is 84 % meat white , about 42% liquid consuming different liquids ; regarding physical activity 67% do not exercise . Concluded that self-care in patients with CRF, in the diet is not el adequate because most patients do not always comply with the diet to be followed and imposed by the disease, ie not restricted in their daily diet sodium, potassium, phosphorus and liquids, which are the most damaging to your health, as financial year físico exist a deficit of self-care, 69% of patients say they do not engage in any physical activity, because they know the type of activity that can and should perform.
