| Summary: | This research aimed to develop strategies to solve mathematical problems related to linear equations. Furthermore, the general objective of this study was to determine the incidence of the Pólya method to improve the resolution of linear equation problems in ninth-grade EGB students. Also, it is a mixed approach because quantitative data was used to express the results obtained in quantities, and qualitative data was used to understand the conceptual analysis through information collection. Likewise, the type of research is descriptive because it allowed the development of the study to be carried out by carrying out a systematic observation, describing the characteristics of the population and the sample, and studying the educational reality that was presented in the institution; Ultimately, the design shown in the study is non-experimental, in which it allowed us to examine the relationship of the context in which the phenomenon develops and analyze it to obtain information. The techniques used were observation, interview, and survey. They helped interpret the problem through a bank of questions related to the topic of study. Likewise, the population was made up of 22 students and one teacher. The application of the Pólya method has proven to be effective and has provided satisfactory results. This method, developed by mathematician George Pólya, offers a systematic and strategic structure for approaching mathematical problems, including solving equations. It is concluded that the Pólya method is defined as a systematic and methodical approach to solving linear equation problems. Therefore, it provides a clear and organized structure for addressing issues, dividing them into stages that include understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, reviewing the results, and, thus, allowing the identification of relevant information, selecting the appropriate strategies and verify the accuracy of their solutions.
