Lesiones bucales en deportistas de 14 a 18 años que practican deportes de contacto de la Federación Deportiva Provincial de Loja periodo marzo-julio de 2016.

The present investigative work was based on a quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, analytical study, and cross section. The objective of the investigation was identify the oral lesions on athlete from 14 to 18 years that practice physical contact sports at Provincial Sports Federation of Loja, also, determine the main lesions in them, know the risk factors, and examine all of them according the age and sex. To get the information and the data collection from the present study relayed with the delved topic was made surveys applied to the athletes from 14 to 18 years, they contains closed questions, and also participatory observation, doing clinical diagnostics with: diagnostic kits, photographic camera, mouth openers, and intraoral mirrors for a future review. After get the information, was proceed to analyze and data organize getting the next results: the best percentage of oral lesions that suffer the athletes that practice contact sports were contusions with 43%. According the gender, it was determined that a 45% was in men and a 41% in women. The physical contact sport with presents more oral lesions was the boxing, the 100% of the athlete had received an oral hit, and the 52% doesn’t use an oral protector. The ages that contusions predominated were in the athletes between 16 to 18 years with a percentage of 54% and, a 37% in athletes between 14 to 15 years. It was concluded that: exits a direct relationship between the hit predispositions and the practice of physical contact sports. Keywords: Oral Lesions, Physical Contact Sports, Teenagers.
