Shrnutí: | A mathematical-logical relationship is relevant to early childhood education because children develop their ability to learn from their environment through a clear understanding of mathematical components. Active participation is important to the development and ability to think in order to successfully address daily challenges; however, the lack of interest and motivation has hindered progress in the mathematical development of children. In the present research, the goal is to determine how structured material strengthens the logical-mathematical connections in children from 4 to 5 years of age at the Dr. Matilde Hidalgo de Procel School in Loja, during the academic year 2023-2024. This project is structured in a quasi-experimental design with a mixed type research approach that facilitates the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, having a descriptive scope; in addition, inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic methods were applied, where the technique used was observation; likewise, the Early Mathematical Evaluation Test was used as an instrument applied to twenty-four children. In the study, 68% of students were located in the moderate, low, and very low levels of logical-mathematical relations, suggesting that many students presented deficiencies in this area. A number of problems were encountered when performing the activities containing mathematical components; after carrying out the activity guide with structured material, a reduction of the difficulties to 24% in the low levels was evidenced, providing a positive improvement. To conclude, structured material is essential for early education, because it enables children to improve their logical-mathematical relationships in geometry, attributes, quantity, and numbers activities, motivating them to learn easier. Key words: logical-mathematical, structured material, thinking. |
