To carry out the research, a study with a qualitative cross-sectional approach was applied since the quasi-experimental methodology was applied in a certain time, it was framed in the inductive-deductive, analysis and synthesis methods, which contributed to the theoretical foundation, the technique used was the survey which allowed to identify the problems that the participants referred about their emotional intelligence, the information obtained showed that 70% of the population has difficulty understanding, understanding and controlling emotions, while the 30% maintain a stable level of emotional control; and as an instrument the Mesquite emotional intelligence test was used, which was applied to ten children from the parish of El Cisne, among the most relevant data it was possible to show that the children are located at a level of low emotional intelligence with 70% , while 30% of children are at optimal levels of emotional intelligence.
