Zusammenfassung:Parasitic diseases can be caused by the ingesting protozoa cysts, eggs or larva´s worms, these kind of infections are very common all over the world and affect specially the poorest communities. According to the Pan- American organization of health (OPS) in America there are around 46 millions of children who are under the risk of suffering such kind of infections. So that it becomes one of the highest problems of public health. This project is aimed to identify the relationship between water consumption and parasitism in students of elementary school, the ones who have medical care in the small hospital of Miraflores in Loja City. There is considered a cross and descriptive analysis in which 100 children were considered; there was structured survey used as technique to gather data and also a matrix to classify the kinds of parasites that were identified in the clinical reports of the youngsters; As result of the analysis we can conclude that most of the used water is purified it is represented in 87% but on the other hand some children drink or use without processing water; the most influent parasites are amoebas (Entamoeba histolytica) a 20%; Ascaris Lumbricoides a 12%; Oxiuros a 2% and also there are other kind of parasites such us Giardia Lambia which represent a 4 %. Finally according to the results 61% of the population are not infected by parasites. There is a great relationship between water consumption and parasitosis since water is one of the main vehicles of mediate transmission of parasites Key words: water, parasites, children
