Čoahkkáigeassu:The main objective of the study is to determine the risk factors for the threat of preterm birth in primiparous pregnant adolescents attended at the Isidro Ayora Hospital in the period February - August 2016, and specific objectives are: 1) to identify cases of threatened preterm birth , 2) to determine the main risk factors in the threat of preterm birth and 3) to establish the association between the threat of preterm birth and the main risk factors. It was a retrospective study of cases and controls, group cases (100) were primiparous pregnant adolescents <20 years between 22 to 36.6 SG with diagnosis of threat of preterm labor, and control group (150) with the same characteristics but without diagnosis of threat of preterm birth. Results: cases of threatened preterm birth represented 1.3% of the total number of patients in the Gynecological obstetrics service; the main risk factors were: urinary tract infection (UTI) and anemia 50%, genital infection 27%, hypertensive disorders 17%, RPM 6%, less than 5 prenatal controls 35%; and the association between the main risk factors and the threat of preterm birth was: hypertensive disorders OR: 2.59, followed by vaginal infections OR: 2.55, ITU OR 1.83, and less association with anemia OR: 1.03, RPM OR: 0.67 and controls prenatal OR: 0.52. It is concluded that primary care should monitor the prenatal control of patients who present with a hypertensive disorder, vaginal infections and urinary tract infection to avoid complicating the threat of preterm birth during the development of pregnancy.
