Caracterización fenotípica del cerdo criollo en el cantón Loja de la provincia de Loja

The study on phenotypic characterization of the creole pig in Loja canton of the province of Loja, located in the region of the Sierra south of Ecuador, being objective was today perform phenotypic characterization of the creole pig Canton Loja, identify types existing creole pigs, determine the rates zoometric creole pigs and know their fanerópticas characteristics. The study was conducted on a sample of 37 creole pigs, 12 months and older, regardless of sex; the morphological characterization of 17 zoometric indicators 9 zoometric indices, and 8 fanerópticas variables was performed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation with SAS 9.1 statistical software. The results were, for zoometric measures: PV 93.89; LCZ 24.36; LH 12.08; ACZ 14.78; AH 10.61; ANG 19.29; LGR 22.41; DBC 26.54; ALC 68.94; ALG 71.96; ANC 54.04; DDE 40.15; DL 74.38; LO 23.37; AO 17.80; PTO 109,92; PCA 17.95. Zoometric rates for ICF was obtained ICF 63.34; IF 48.69; IPD 93.48; PRP 58.04; IC 67.98; IPF 88.71; IMT 16,40; ICC 22.32; IT 66.95. The presence of five ecotypes of creole pigs, which differ by color coat, mucosa, hooves, presence of hair, ears distribution, frontonasal profile and presence of mamells was determined.
