| Тойм: | Foreign Direct Investment has been necessary to generate economic growth and evolution in developing countries during the last three decades. Where it has become an essential tool for the transfer of technology from developed to developing countries, motivating local capital investment and promoting improvements in the provision of human capital in recipient countries. In this sense, the general objective of the present investigation was: to determine the incidence of Country Risk on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ecuador, 2000-2017 period, through an econometric study, with the purpose of examining the dynamics of short and Long term between the variables. To verify this relationship, estimates were made through time series regressions, in addition to cointegration techniques to identify the short and long-term equilibrium, for this, statistical data published by the Central Bank of Ecuador (2019) and the Institute were used National Statistics and Census (2019). The results indicate that country risk has a negative effect on FDI in the short and long term. In addition, unidirectional causality is evidenced among the variables of country risk, inflation and foreign direct investment. These results are related to what is stated in the economic theory where the role of Country Risk is crucial for foreign investors, which is why it is important to generate state policies aimed at generating legal security for investors, promoting greater flows of Foreign Investment towards country. |
