The information was collected through a 15-question survey conducted personally and online to a sample of 336 consumers of the millennial generation (people between 21 and 41 years old). The results showed that the most predominant factors in the purchase decision of this population group are economic circumstances, life cycle and lifestyle (personal factor), experience (psychological factor) and the opinion of the family (social factor), i.e., although their purchasing power is low, the need to consume healthy products leads them to purchase fruits and vegetables, although in small quantities. The consumption of these products is given by their own initiative in order to preserve their health, habits that have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic, as stated by 42.56%, the amount of purchase and consumption varies depending on the type of fruits and vegetables, their mode of consumption is distributed in the five daily meals in various preparations, where the main responsible for the purchase is the mother. Se aplicó una metodología mixta de carácter exploratoria, con una herramienta descriptiva transversal simple, debido a que toda la información fue recolectada en un tiempo único; se utilizó además el método deductivo e inductivo. La recolección de información se efectúo a través de una encuesta con 15 preguntas realizada de manera personal y online a una muestra de 336 consumidores de la generación millennial (personas en edad de 21 a 41 años). Los resultados demostraron que los factores más predominantes en la decisión de compra de este grupo poblacional son las circunstancias económicas, ciclo de vida y estilo de vida (factor personal), la experiencia (factor psicológico) y la opinión de la familia (factor social), es decir, a pesar de que su capacidad adquisitiva es baja, la necesidad de consumir productos saludables conlleva a adquirir frutas y verduras aunque en reducidas cantidades. El consumo de estos productos esta dado por iniciativa propia con la finalidad de preservar su salud, hábitos que han cambiado a partir de la pandemia de COVID-19, según lo afirma el 42,56%, la cantidad de compra y consumo varía dependiendo del tipo de frutas y verduras, su modo de consumo está distribuida en las cinco comidas diarias en diversas preparaciones, dónde la encargada principal de la compra es la mamá.
