| description | Within this final year project a process analysis, design and simulation of a Multiservice Network based on optical fibre rings (SDH-WDM), based on ring topology and using triple play services, is hereby described. Equipment requirements were then established based on primary and secondary nodes (collectors), taking into account the probable traffic matrix using these nodes, and the needs of redundant connections to the main rings. Additionally, the most important characteristics of the equipment to be installed in the optical network are described and later the network synchronization and its hardware and software requirements essential to the proper functioning of a SDH-WDM network design. Furthermore the ability of the network to interface with DWDM technology as well as the supporting equipment is depicted. In addition, how wavelengths over fibre strands in SDH-WDM bidirectional links are transmitted is documented as well as their competitive advantages. Finally, the selected software simulation where the correct operation of hardware and software with the constituent elements of the ATOAV optical network is presented. This project serves as a basis for the design and implementation of a Multiservice Network based on optical fibre rings. |

This project serves as a basis for the design and implementation of a Multiservice Network based on optical fibre rings.En este proyecto de fin de carrera se describe el proceso de análisis, diseño y simulación de una Red Multiservicio (SDH-WDM) basada en anillos de fibra óptica, partiendo de la topología de anillo y los servicios triple play que se van a prestar. Luego se establecen los requerimientos de equipamiento por nodos primarios y nodos secundarios (colectores), tomando en cuenta la matriz de tráfico probable que circula por estos nodos, y las necesidades de conexiones redundantes para los anillos principales. Adicionalmente, se describen las características más importantes de los equipos a instalarse en la red óptica para luego describir la red de sincronismo y sus requerimientos de diseño físico y lógico, esenciales para el buen funcionamiento de una red SDH-WDM. Por otro lado se detalla la capacidad de la red para trabajar con la tecnología DWDM en la cual se describen los equipos que la soportan. Igualmente se documenta como se trasmite las longitudes de onda sobre los hilos de fibra en los enlaces bidireccionales SDH-WDM y sus ventajas competitivas. Finalmente, se representa la simulación con el software seleccionado donde se describe el correcto funcionamiento del diseño Físico y Lógico con los elementos constituyentes de la red óptica ATOAV.
