Summary:This research titled: THE TEACHING MATERIALS FOR DEVELOPING SKILLS WITH PERFORMANCE CRITERIA IN BLOCK CURRICULUM "ORGANIZATION OF MY PROVINCE" AREA OF SOCIAL STUDIES GRADE STUDENTS OF GENERAL BASIC EDUCATION SCHOOL OF FISCAL MIXED ALEJANDRINO VELASCO The city of Loja, 2014. Proposition PERIOD GUIDELINES, is structured based on the current Guidelines Graduation at the National University of Loja. The general objective that guided the research process was, analyze teaching materials used by teachers in basic general education and its relationship to the development of skills with performance criterion of fourth graders from Public School Alejandrino Velasco city Loja. The type of study is descriptive; The population was composed of 3 teachers, 87 students and one manager. In the methodology used, scientific, inductive and deductive hypothetical method. The instruments used which were applied were: the survey for teachers and students, the questionnaire for managers to know the teaching materials used for the development of skills with performance criteria. The most relevant results, 67% use printed materials in teaching and learning of curricular organization in my province; 67% shortcomings found for skills development is not achieved with performance criterion is the presence of students with learning disabilities; 92% of students say that teachers use maps of the province as a teaching material; 86% during this school year hope to achieve a good school performance and improve the performance of learning skills. It is concluded that the most commonly used teaching materials are printed texts, guides, magazines, maps, laminas; and it is recommended to innovate teaching materials based on the current and modern technology.
