Opis
Sažetak:In the province of Esmeraldas in 2022, around 2,200 hectares were cultivated, of which 80% are cultivated in the La Unión Parish of the Quinindé Canton. And in total in the country 9,437 hectares, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador. To determine the influence of the bumblebee on the pollination of the passion fruit flower, visits were made to the plantations in the El Limón sector, belonging to the La Unión Parish, Quinindé Canton, making observations of the time at which it occurs. the effect of floral opening, the respective visits of the bumblebee to the flowers, and the next day evaluating the percentage of fertilization. The passion fruit flowers open at 1:00 p.m., reaching the greatest number of flowers that open at 2:30 p.m., and this process occurs in an approximate time of 15 minutes. The bee makes its first visit 10 minutes after the flower reaches its full opening, and the second visit is made after 30 minutes, and thus it also returns 30 minutes later to make its third visit. The fertilization percentage of the flowers visited was 100%, thus determining that the bumblebee plays a very important role in the pollination work in the passion fruit crop. Bumblebees play a very important role in the pollination of passion fruit, due to the size of their body and the amount of hair they have on the upper part of their thorax. With these qualities, it acts as a transporter of the pollen grain from one flower to another and distributes it to the stigma of the flowers and thus manages to complete the pollination process and its subsequent result, which is the fertilization of the ovules. Keywords: Bumblebee, Pollination, Passion Fruit.
