| Sumari: | Language is a unique capacity of human beings that is carried out through speech and involves the production of sounds and words using vocal organs such as: the tongue, lips and teeth; It is essential that it is properly developed and stimulated during the first years of life. This research aimed to determine how symbolic play influences the development of oral language in children aged 4 to 5 years from the Padre Julián Lorente Educational Unit, city of Loja, period 2023-2024, for its execution a mixed approach was used with quasi-experimental design and descriptive scope, the problem refers to difficulties in oral language in a sample of 23 children, for which the Navarra Oral Language Test-Revised (PLON-R) was used, determining that the majority of the children were at a delayed level, as detailed below: In the initial evaluation, 61% of children were delayed, 22% needed improvement and only 17% had a normal level. Furthermore, by ordering and analyzing the data, it was determined that they manifested some phonetic errors such as: substitution, omission and insertion in verbal production; Jointly, taking into account the affected phoneme, the following were determined: rhotacism, deltacism and gammacism. In order to contribute to the development of oral language, the proposal of the activity guide called The Adventures of Symbolic Play was applied, evaluating each of these with an assessment scale, which allowed improvements in the language to be observed in the dimensions of form and content; Therefore, it is recommended to continue taking advantage of and designing strategies that encompass symbolic play, since it occurs innately in children and is easy to handle for teachers and parents. At the end of the intervention and applying the post-test, improvements were evident, since only 26% of children were at a delayed level, 13% were in need of improvement and 61% were in normal; although it was not possible for everyone to resurface from the delay level. The results found in the research process demonstrate the incidence of symbolic play in strengthening oral language in children. Keywords: Expression, speech, imaginary, playful. |
