Περίληψη:The present research is titled : Ludic strategies for improving the reading in the students of the third grade of Basic General Education of the Department of Language and Literature, Block 2 "The world of fairy tales," at Jose Angel Palacio School, Sucre Parish, Canton and Province of Loja, in the academic year 2014-2015 ; it aimed to improve the reading through the use of ludic strategies, which was achieved with the implementation of specific objectives that were previously established, considering that the present research is of a pre-experimental type, where the following methods were used: scientific, comprehensive, analytical, synthetic, participatory diagnosis, proactive model, workshop and the comprehensive evaluation method as well as techniques of direct observation and the application of a survey for a teacher and students. 17 human talents, a teacher and 16 students participated in the investigative work. At the end of the research was obtained as a result that there are reading problems and that the strategies used by the teacher are not enough to improve it, it is concluded that it is important to include recreational strategies in the process of reading as: Search titles tales, reading giraffe, messy story, storytelling aloud to help strengthen learning and develop the skills needed to improve students reading
