要約:A fertile and healthy soil depends on its physical and chemical properties; knowing the characteristics of the soil resource is essential to ensure optimal management and maximize agricultural production. Low production levels are associated with various causes, such as inadequate application of fertilizers, pesticides, elimination of vegetation by burning and overgrazing. The main objective of the research was the physical and chemical characterization of the soil of the Callancas farm located in the Pindal canton, to implement a fertilization plan in order to obtain a high yield of corn (Zea mays. L). In the development of the study, soil samples were taken from the pits located in the research area, and the physical characteristics and chemical properties were determined by the pF curve using the modified Olsen method; soil pH: water (1:2.5) and NaOH titration. The results obtained indicate that the first soil layer presents a low CA and average AA content, which is manifested in a VFI (81.64 %) classified as very poor according to zone I of the triangular diagram for the evaluation of the physical conditions of the soil, in addition, there are deficiencies of macro and micronutrients (N, P, K, B, S, Zn, Mn) and a pHH20 practically neutral with an average CEC and MO, the values are indicative that the soil conditions are not suitable for the development of the corn crop, for this reason a fertilization plan according to the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil resource of the research area and according to the nutritional requirements of corn by phenological stage. Finally, is it recommended to perform the physical-chemical characterization of the soil before establishing the fertilization program with emphasis on a higher agricultural yield.
