| Resumo: | The research, titled "Causes and Effects of Psychological, Physical, Sexual, and Economic Violence on Adolescents at the Renacer Care Center in the city of Loja," aimed to analyze the causes and effects of violence on the socio-economic development of the adolescents served at the center. This research highlighted the complexity of domestic violence, which impacts not only young girls but also their families and communities. The need for comprehensive interventions that consider various factors, such as the spread of violence, alcohol consumption, and the lack of economic resources and family structure, was recognized. The study adopted a qualitative exploratory and descriptive approach, based on the constructivist perspective, and used the case study method with appropriate research techniques. In addition to addressing the specific causes and effects of violence, the importance of considering gender-based violence as an interconnected factor influencing the socio-economic development of families and the well-being of adolescents was emphasized. Upon concluding the research and applying the methodology, a consensus was reached among the staff at the Renacer Center and the external violence expert, who acknowledged the crucial relevance of gender-based violence in this context. This finding underscores the need to comprehensively address gender-based violence in research and potential intervention strategies at the Renacer Center, as its impact can be significant in the lives of adolescents and their families. |
