Résumé:The main objective of this study was to demonstrate the value of the medical preoperative evaluation as a predictor of risk surgical instrument in mature adults vs older adults in the José Miguel Rosillo Hospital of Cariamanga city. It was descriptive and observational, in which by means of inclusion and exclusión criteria, were selected 50 patients, When where examined carefully, prior to the surgical procedure applying risk tables to each of them Cabinet and laboratory tests, were made after correlate with the presence or absence of complications. The results obtained were: a higher percentage of preoperative evaluations in mature adults, which were found in class I and II in the cardiological assessment for risk of Goldman and Lee. While in older adults were class I to IV for Goldman and Class I-III for index of Lee. In assessing the respiratory risk, mature adults and older presented similar conditions, with intermediate risk for Canet, while for AROZULLAH then in class 2 and 3 in older adults, and class 1 and 2 for mature adults. The electrocardiographic alterations, showed no risk criteria; nor laboratory tests significant changes that modify the risk. The complications were not related to the previous rates of irrigation, but rather to the type of surgery, background, and surgical techniques used; there was a greater number of complications in patients who underwent abdominal surgeries, regardless of age. The study concludes that the medical evaluation preoperative predicts the surgical risk by 15% in mature adults and 5% in older adults which does not justify the high costs in supplementary examinations, they are these laboratory or image.
