Čoahkkáigeassu:In adolescents, body self-perception has a decisive influence on their relationship with their environment, since it leads to the development of significant social and emotional habits, presenting a concern for their physical appearance and especially the impact that it has on the perception of their peers. The present investigation has as an objective to evaluate the relationship between body self-perception and social skills in adolescents of an educational school of Loja city, period 2022. The methodology used in this investigation was developed through a non-experimental design because the variables weren't manipulated and were investigated in their natural state, it was also a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach and descriptive correlational type, with a sample of 130 school adolescents from 15 to 18 years. The instruments used for the data collection were Cooper's Body Shape Questionnaire and Goldstein's Social Skills Scale. The results showed that most of the adolescents weren't concerned about body image; however, they presented some degree of moderate dissatisfaction and extreme dissatisfaction in body self-perception, and in relation to the social skills they presented a prevalent percentage in the normal and good level of social skills. It was determined that a higher body self-perception, a higher are the social skills by means of the cross table, and this was corroborated with Spearman's correlation coefficient, which showed that there is a direct and significant relationship between the two variables body self-perception and social skills. Based on the results obtained, a psychological prevention plan was developed to improve body self-perception and strengthen social skills in adolescents
