Ամփոփում: | Typhoid fever is a systemic bacterial disease characterized in the initial phase by the insidious onset of continuous fever, intense headache, malaise, the event is produced by Salmonella typhi and paratyphi. It is acquired through contaminated food and water, its natural reservoir is man, which contaminates the environment by intermittent excretion of bacteria. It is estimated that the annual incidence of typhoid fever in the world is 17 million cases, with about 600,000 deaths. In our country, it is a serious public health problem due to the high incidence of this disease, with Loja province being the most affected by 368 cases (36.68%) in 2015 (SE 1-53). This research has proposed The determination of the causal agent of typhoid and paratyphoid fever in patients attending the Binational Hospital of Macará and relating to risk factors is a descriptive cross-sectional study during the period June-August 2015 for the determination of co-cultures using broth Selenite to stimulate and promote the growth of Salmonella, then the bacteria were isolated by the Stretch Stretch method in selective solid media such as SS, Hektoen and EMB agar and to complement the identification specific biochemical tests were used for detection of Salmonella as : Urea, Lysine, TSI, SIM, Citrate, Ornithine and Methyl Red. In relation to the results, Salmonella was not obtained, but 26 cases of Proteus were present corresponding to (17%) and 124 cases of Escherichia coli corresponding to (84%). Keywords: Salmonella typhi and paratyphi. |
