Summary:The total participation of persons with disabilities in social life is one of the most pressing needs of modern societies, because disabilities, permanent or temporary, can occur at any time of life and limit the performance and mobility of people. Under these assumptions, Loja, should ensure easy access to the urban environment and public services as part of building a city with comprehensive accessibility and the removal of barriers such as disability only way to independent living. In this research is to make a preliminary assessment of the accessibility and detail some of the critical points that limit mobility and participation of people with disabilities in the city of Loja. They have taken as reference the use of public transport services, mobility from pedestrians, access and use of parks, etc.., To implement a survey of the state of accessibility in the city of Loja, also has been documented graphically most obvious problems of the lack of accessibility y and some actions to improve accessibility in newly designed buildings. Finally, the purpose of this assessments to encourage local authorities to present comprehensive proposals to improve the accessibility and mobility of people in the city of Loja, and achieve the active involvement of Loja society and disabled groups.
